  1. You laugh, but even so far away from temptation as you are in the sticks, you will find a way to acquire more :D

  2. Nice back story to that handsome Royal. A bug collection... what can I say?!

  3. I like the moose.

  4. Oh dear! Now you may have opened a flood-gate of incidental collectables. Tiny plastic figurines from cereal packs, Christmas crackers, Kinder chocolate eggs and so on? Cigarette lighters? Analogue stills cameras? I, too, like the moose!

  5. A very handsome "contraption."

Royal portables often seem to skip. You can probably fix it if you're willing to get into the escapement, but that is kind of like doing open-heart surgery.

  6. I wish real moose were that size..."The Twins" have been hanging around again, one male, one female. Someone's going to get hurt this fall when big boy decides he has an itch to scratch. I'm staying inside. :)

I love these typewriter posts so much...so creative!

  7. Fabulous new typewriter to add to your collection, Cameron. I'm turning a little green. Very creative the way you have turned your bug collection into the 'black' bug collection. Good thing you have quite a large place in which to curate your ever growing collection. I think, personally, the hop, skip space is rather charming. shooting stars and kitty whiskers, Donna

  8. @Richard: Thanks for alerting me that this is a known issue with such Royals. I probably won't mess with it.

@Moose lovers: I'm pleasantly surprised at y'all's favorable reactions. Just seemed like a nice break from the bugs!

  9. This is such a beautiful blog, both the writing and the photographs. Quirky, too, of course, which makes it even more interesting. I know is it a blog, but I would love to see it as a coffee table book, too, if anyone would buy it and/or if any Barnes and Noble stores are left on this planet in a few year's time. I think antique stores might take the book, too, and/or museums. What do you think, Cameron?
