A Storm is Coming

I looked out the window directly ahead of me and saw storm clouds coming, so I decided to dash off a quick blog post on my Remington Model Seventeen (1941).
Storm clouds moving in: 7 a.m.
Close up taken a moment later at 7:01 a.m.
James just added a lamp in the corner that makes this writing space even more inviting.
Progression of clouds: 7:15 a.m.
Even more clouds, 7:30 a.m.
Time to rip this out and put it in the scanner to post!
8:30 a.m. -- HERE IT COMES!

  1. I love those moments when a storm rolls in, and using that Remington to document that moment was inspired. That remmie puts down a very nice print, too. Looks like a great candidate for the rest of your Nano! (:

  2. Great pictures.

I have never tried one of these Remingtons and really must one day.

By the way, a colleague who spends 3 months every summer in and around Yellowstone recently turned to me for advice. He wants a manual typewriter! I was happy to point him in the direction of some good machines that will help him out "in the woods."

  3. We have some pretty spectacular storms here in Australia - but i have never been on one when it has snowed. It's snowed in Melbourne a few times, but nothing like I'd imagine you guys would see.

looking forward to seeing some snow shots.

  4. Wonderful photos. Your writing space looks more inviting every time you show it.

  5. I love seeing your creative space. The sound of a typewriter reminds me of the early days of work. Am looking forward to the snow pics. Snow always looks pretty at your place.

  6. Between that typewriter and that location, I think you'll blitz through NaNo this month. Seclusion can be so productive.

  7. Anonymous4:36 AM

I hope you didn't get pummeled, there's been enough of that going on! Stay toasty!

  8. I love watching the arrival of a storm - they used to be so exciting in the midwest. I miss this.
