The Wild & Woolly Barn

  1. Your barn looks like a great place to create and reminds me of how much I still wish for a treehouse. I like the color coordination and especially the red lanterns - they provide a nice contrast with the dark wood. Nice use of the red and black ribbon in the typecast, too!

  3. I love the Edison quote! The barn looks like a great place to hang out and make stuff. Once again, you have given me a reason to envy your woods.

  4. Marvelous! But what type writer did you use? And were you trying to type in red, or is something amiss with your bi-chrome selector?

    1. This post was typed on a Remington Quiet-Riter Eleven (circa 1960). I used the red ribbon selector setting intentionally, because of the strange bi-colored letters. I like that effect, and thought it would combine well with all the red stuff in the pictures. I did the same for my Christmas post.

I include the kind of typewriter used in my posts in my tags at the end of each post.

    2. Ah! O.K., now I see. Forgive my lack of attentiveness!

  5. I'd kill to have a barn! I love the weathered wood...I wouldn't burn it, I'd paint on it! Sigh. I owe you a letter. I started one the other day, but got sidetracked. I'll get back to it soon, I promise!

    1. There is plenty of "junk" wood which was not part of the barn, but *IN* the barn.

It has been stored in the middle portion for many years, and much of it is unusable except for burning -- usually in the outdoor wood stove on the Sky Deck. This is important for those very occasional pieces of painted wood.

  6. Thanks for the tour of your lovely barn! It must be luxurious to have so much space under cover.

  8. The inside of the barn is cool. The Airstream is very cool.
The color are nicely done. I love the space of the barn, plenty of room to do stuff!

    1. That first photo looks as though it is actually shot on a film set!
